The Loan Services Mortgage Insurance Specialist exists for daily,
weekly and monthly reviews and reconciliations of Mortgage Insurance
and Private Mortgage Insurance accounts. Ensuring requirements for the
termination/cancellation of MI/PMI is handled according to requirements
set forth by FHA, USDA and The Home Owner’s Protection Act (HPA).
Reviewing borrower requests for early termination of MI/PMI and
mailing written responses.
Terminating the MI/PMI from the VMF servicing system when
Requesting the termination and cancellation of MI/PMI through FHA,
USDA and private mortgage insurance companies.
Reconciling reports from FHA, USDA and private mortgage companies
for premiums due to the servicing system.
Reviewing daily reports for paid out loans.
Communicating with mortgage insurance companies.
Working closely with Research, Loan Services Audit and Accounting
on escrow payment adjustments, the payment of MI/PMI premiums and
ensuring the VMF is compliant with laws and regulations set forth
by FHA, USDA and the HPA.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience working with escrow, or queries would be beneficial.
Proficient in Excel.
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with internal
departments via phone, email and fax.
Ability to manage multiple duties with a sense of urgency.
Great attention to detail, organizational and follow-up skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity
machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and
90% communication methods completed over the phone. Must be able to
exchange accurate information at all times.
