POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Governance Analyst II position exists to develop sound data governance practices across the organization that helps ensure that high quality data exists through the lifecycle of the data. This position aims to aid managers in understanding data by developing enabling systems, controls and services to support data governance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for working in specific workstreams within the Data Governance practice.

  • Works with various VMF business managers to understand data needs.

  • Meets with internal customers to develop project scope for analytic and research requests.

  • Supports existing analytic solutions, including modernization/standardization, troubleshooting, and annual maintenance as needed reporting with star-schema implementations.

  • Works with end-users on self-service analytics including direct line support and training.

  • Provides a solid understanding of development of collecting, organizing, analyzing and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Provides a solid understanding of data products that address specific business data problem domains.

  • Supports the new systems for the various VMF modernization initiatives - ERP, servicing & originations. Develop enabling systems, controls and services to support data governance (Data Quality Testing, Data dictionaries, Metadata management, Access controls, etc.

  • Control testing and reporting of implemented framework and compliance across Clayton.

  • Good judgement using analysis and experience along with the ability to handle stressful situation.

  • Exhibits high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 to 4 years of professional business experience with a progressive track record of accomplishments in Information Governance, Data Governance, Data Management, or Data/System Analysis.

  • Two to four years of experience with MDM, change control, quality and security as well as industry best practices.

  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence principles for relational database platforms.

  • Two to four years of experience with database modeling and query writing.

  • Must possess a solid understanding of Data Governance principles.

  • Must have working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via phone, email and person to person.

  • Capable of gathering facts accurately, analyze causes, evaluate alternate solutions and arrive at sound conclusions on action to be taken.

  • Ability to manage multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities.

  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.

  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.

  • Constantly works in an indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
