POSITION SUMMARY:

Mail Processing Receiving Clerks exist to determine status of incoming shipments through Purchasing Department schedule.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Communicates with Purchasing Department daily regarding current shipments and priorities to ensure products are received in a timely manner.

  • Verifies products received by checking against packing lists and associated purchase orders to ensure the accuracy of shipments from vendors.

  • Performs a quality check on inbound products and communicates any defects or discrepancies to Purchasing Department and associated vendor.

  • Scans all packing slips information into the associated purchase order, held in internal ticketing system.

  • Receives items in internal ticketing system once all verification and packing slips scans are complete.

  • Utilizes small hand tools, hand trucks, scanning devises and scales as needed.

  • Distributes received items to appropriate locations and personnel as needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.

  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

  • 90% communication methods completed over the phone. Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.

  • Ability to identify and assess shipment status and determine appropriate process.

  • Constantly works in an indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
