The VMF Reporting Analyst I position exists to develop advanced reporting and analytic solutions that present information for decision making opportunities as well as utilizing data from a variety of sources within and outside the company.


  • Creates current-state analysis and identifies the requirements of both internal and external customers.

  • Meets with internal customers to develop project scope for analytic and research requests.

  • Creates visually appealing reports and dashboards that intuitively present information based off of data gathered from internal and external customers.

  • Designs, develops, tests, implements and maintains analytic solutions leveraging centrally managed reporting tools; such as, Tableau and SQL Server Reporting Services.

  • Supports existing analytic solutions, including modernization/standardization, troubleshooting, and annual maintenance as needed.

  • Works with end-users on self-service analytics including direct line support and training while providing a solid understanding of business needs.

  • Completes special projects with a focus on data analysis, data mining, and presentation.

  • Provides an advanced understanding of development of collecting, organizing, analyzing and disseminating significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Provides an advanced understanding of data products that address specific business data problem domains.

  • Maintains a good understanding of business fundamentals including accounting and finance.

  • Completes an in-depth evaluation and verification of the capabilities of systems, servicing as the liaison between the end-users and Business Analytics team to ensure that product information is properly disseminated.

  • Develops and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) for VMF Originations and Servicing.

  • Solid knowledge of the following Software: SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Tableau, Sequel Viewpoint, Microsoft PowerQuery, and Microsoft PowerPivot to become more adept at completing special projects and tasks.

  • Designs, develops, tests, implements, and maintains analytic solutions leveraging centrally managed reporting tools such as Tableau, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and Microsoft PowerPivot.

  • Stays up to date with latest trends and developments in the business world.

  • Works with end-users on self-service analytics including direct line support and training.

  • Manages project requests for ad hoc report and query creation or self-service guidance

  • Provides statistical Analysis techniques; such as, linear regression and correlation analysis for analyzing data sets.

  • Performs duties as assigned.


  • Four-year degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Computer Science or related field.

  • Must have 1-4 years related experience.

  • Must have working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong Excel knowledge required including financial formulas and pivot tables.

  • Ability to understand query definitions and relational database structure.

  • Possess analytical skills as well as abstract reasoning, strong math and experience with Tableau, SSRS, or SSMS is a plus.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via phone, email and person to person.

  • Capable of gathering facts accurately, analyze causes, evaluate alternate solutions and arrive at sound conclusions on action to be taken.

  • Ability to manage multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities.

  • Great attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.


  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.

  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

  • 90% communication methods completed over the phone. Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times.

  • Constantly works in an indoor temperature controlled, sealed window office environment.
